Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Networking

Honorable ones Mrs. Kusmiati, our speech Lecturer, My friends and all of the audiences.

Before I begin to give a speech, I would like to invite you to thank to Allah the Almighty, who has given us Mercy and Blessing, so we can meet together in this blessing place. And also I don’t forget to deliver shalawat and salam to our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from the darkness , so we are always in the right way.

Ladies and gentlement,

Social Networking has grown to a level where it becomes part of people’s everyday living. As with everything on the internet, there are advantages and disadvantages of social networking.

Here are some adventages of social networking :

1.       Low Cost

Definitely, it’s cheaper to use online social networking for both personal and bussiness use, because most of it is usually free. While personal use is rather simple for anyone, the bussiness functions are underestimated by many.

If you want to fine tune your bussiness, then this is the way to go, whether on budget or not.

2.       Builds credibility

You definitely can gain the customers’ confidence if you can connect to them on both personal and professional level. As long as you don’t pursue them to agressively, you will do well here.

3.       Connections

You are friends with people who have othe  friends, and so on. The re is potential in such a common situation.

That definitely sounds exciting. However, what about the disadvantages though?

1.       Lack of privacy

You are putting out information about your name, location, age, gender, and many other. Even though, nowadays we can manipulate all of those things. But in facebook and twitter, when we like or joining some groups, it will be seen by our friends. It bothers us a lot.

2.       Scams and Harassment

Have you ever heard about facebook kidnapping? Yes, there are so many kidnapping through facebook nowadays. There are also many fake shop, fake people in facebook. So, we must be careful using social networking.

3.       Time consuming

If this is not your kind of thing that it would just be a waste of time.

Once you understand the advantages and disadvantages of Social Networking, then you can cruise through without fail.

To know how to make a goood partnership in family life is a must. It can keep the family always together ever after.  It is not really difficult to maintain it, but to keep it is difficult. We need our consistency to keep our relationship well and become an Everlasting Family.

There are some tips for us to make a good partnership:

1.      Respect

In family life, we need to respect our partner. If there is no respectful in the family, it will make the family feel like a hell. Try to respect what our partner wants and if we don’t agree, we can give an advice so that our partner understands us.

2.       Patient

As a family, there will be many problems we face. If the problems come, try to give a time to our partner to relax. It can make our partner feels comfortable while the problem is still being faced. We also need to be patient to solve the problem.

3.      Understand

Learn how to understand each other is an obligation. Understanding each other is very important in a family life. If we can’t understand our partner, obviously our family will be broken.

Try to understand the tasks of each other. After getting married, we are not an individual anymore. The husband must be a family leader to lead the family in harmony.

4.      Thank You

It is just a simple thing, but it has a huge effect. “Thank you” can make someone feel that he/she is respected by other. It also happens in a family life. Our partner will be very happy if we say Thank You after she/he did something for us.  If our partner happy, our love will be bigger.

5.      I love You

Our prophet Muhammad SAW has told us in Hadith to always say “LOVE” to our partner. Many people forget to say LOVE to their partner. They don’t realize the power of word LOVE to keep the family in harmony.

6.      Don’t be Su’udzon

The problems will always be faced. If there is something suspicious, we should talk openly. It is not good if we only keep the feeling in the heart. It can hurt us. It is most important that we have a heart to heart talk with our partner.

7.      Together in worship

It is a nice tip. The last tip is very helpful to create a harmony in the family. If we have time try once to do the worship together, like Shalat, read AlQur’an. Insya Allah we can get Rahmat from Allah if we can make an Islamic environment in our family.

SOCIAL PROBLEMS

As a heterogen country, obviously there will be many social problems faced in Indonesia. Social problem is a condition where there is/are unfullfilled needs equally.

What factor causes social problems? There are many factors that cause social problems, here they are:

1.    1.   Economy

     This problem usually appeared because of nation’s fault, commonly poverty, unemployment etc. Government is the one who has the responsibility in this problem. It has ever happened in Indonesia in 1997-1998 when the monetary crisis was being faced in South East Asia.  

2.      2. Culture

The differentiations of culture in Indonesia also cause several problems, for instance, Luxurious marriage ceremony, divorcement, juvenile delinquencies, etc. The problem solving in this problem must be very careful in order to not create any resistance between people in a society.

Then, what are social problems being faced in Indonesia?

1.    1.   Poverty

Even though the economic condition in Indonesia shows a good improvement, there are still many people who live under decent level. It becomes a social problem that we can find easily in the town or countryside.

Our government has done many programs to wipe out poverty from Indonesia, such as PNPM Mandiri, Job Training, and BLT. But all of them are not enough to solve this problem. There are many people who live in poverty as a habit so they never think to increase their level in life.

2.     2.  Education

It is such an old story. From the collapse schools building until drop out students are the problem that our country faced for a long time. What causes this problem?

-          Difficult access to school

-          Poor infrastructure

-          Poor qualified teacher

-          Bad salary

-          Irrelevant curriculum with daily life

-          etc.

3.      3. Unemployment

Unemployment happened if the amounts of job seeker are higher than job vacancy. The percentage of unemployment in Indonesia is 8.12 % or 7.61 million people.
